This week's blog post will be written by Jackie, Logic Wizard for AJ Inc! We hit a brick wall with things related to Science and our STEMinists t-shirts. Aunt Laurie said that scientists take everything very literally, SO we need to revise our DNA drawing, and the wording. Angie is changing our drawing by fixing the proteins and wording.
This is important so that we can appeal to our audience: Scientists, mostly college students, who will wear our t-shirts. If the shirt design is realistic, meaning it shows how DNA is actually made up, then. They will be more likely to buy it! Here's a quote from my associate Angie, the Creative Genius for AJ Inc.
"People will appreciate (the design) more if it is scientifically correct," said Angie. We realized that because the scientists take things literally, and our drawing was not accurate, we needed to revise it. Too bad, because our drawing that almost camera-ready, and now we have to redo it!!
Our biggest challenge is making the design of the shirt sellable for both parties: Scientists, and other "civilians" as Angie says, AKA "Contributors-to-be." We want the other people to think the design is visually appealing to the eye, NOT just Scientists looking for "idiomatic realism." YES this is a new word that I learned which means.. "appropriate to the style of art or music associated with a specific to a particular period, individual, or group" (dictionary.com).
In our case the art (DNA design) is associated with a group (Scientists), so therefore we must make it TRUE TO LIFE! The end.
