Welcome back to our little bloggy blog. Today we worked on finalizing four cards to send to Minuteman Press. We have used this printing company in the past for the calendars we made, to raise money for Abilis. In order to finalize each card, we must:
- Look at the chart we made, which determine who each character is, what they will be holding, and what suit they are.
- Find a reference photo in an old shoe box. If you do not have an old shoe box, go goo Googs (this is the cool nickname for Google).
- Begin sketching with pencil, on the guide AKA stencil AKA template for the playing cards, so that they all have the same angles.
- Ink with a PaperMate Flair (medium), and then erase pencil lines.
- Take a photo with a smart phone (or you could scan), then import the photo into Photoshop.
- Use the “stamp” filter to take your lines nice and quispy (AKA crisp), and erase any abnormalities.
- Use the paint bucket to color each part of the card, making sure to be consistent with the color palette.
- Add in the suit and number in the top right corner.
- Copy the existing layer, paste, and rotate, so that the bottom and top of the card are the same.
- Save the image as a .jpg, and enjoy your delicious cards!
Goodnight little monsters, and we will see you in a few weeks!
